NLM provides biomedical literature, both journal articles and books, to US and international libraries from our print and electronic collections.
There are two ways libraries may use our services via DOCLINE (www.docline.gov), an ILL routing system developed by NLM:
- NLM only library accounts may place requests with NLM via DOCLINE.
- Full participant library accounts may place requests with NLM via DOCLINE, in addition to lending and borrowing features throughout the DOCLINE community.
Please note: Individuals who need access to medical literature should contact a local library.
NLM provides access free of charge to numerous books, journals, and other resources. Please see Free Biomedical Literature Resources (https://www.nlm.nih.gov/docline/freehealthlit.html) for more information.
For further information about NLM Interlibrary Loan, please visit our FAQs.
If you have questions or concerns about an existing article request, please contact NLM ILL support OR your DOCLINE lender.
